Dr. Ollie Jay provides an very detailed 1 hour webinar update on his research into the impact of heat for people with multiple sclerosis. This particular MS and Heat Intolerance Research Findings Webinar is from the 22nd November 2016
Heat intolerance is a common issue for people living with multiple sclerosis (MS). Not only are they in general more sensitive to heat, but heat can also make their MS symptoms considerably worse. MS-related heat intolerance occurs because the myelin protective covering around the nerves in the brain is damaged and doesn’t function properly when the body is overheated.
Note: The audio quality is not optimal in this MS presentation but despite this it is a very good presentation on the research findings in heat intolerance.
